Read everything you can about "domain parking", "domain traffic", "direct navigation".
Read everything you can about online marketing, brick-to-cyber trends, the future of marketing and commerce.
Study market trends and do your best to predict trends, the register subject matter related domains (that are not trademarked).
OTOH, you can just plunge in and start buying.
The domain forums lately are populated with junk domain offerings. If someone is foolish enough to put up an undervalued domain it's snapped up almost instantly. The good stuff is being held or being moved in the background.
You are best to come up with a personal domain strategy. Become an expert in a few markets and go after them. The days of the generalist are over.
Don't be afraid of long urls if you can find a good commercial grade "URL = prime industry keyword phrase".
What I just said should keep you busy for a month or two. Study then act.
Don't expect anyone, anywhere to "give you the answer" about domaining. There's already enough competition and those competing have invested much money and time gaining their expertise.
Might try reading DomainPros, DNJournal or DNForum for added background material.
Anyway, now I am looking for ideas to sell it , to post in forums etc to sell it.
Have got any ideas that you can share with me?
Regards,
Primrose
