ICANN To Issue Advisory On Domain Transfers

I figured I'd post it here in case you guys might have missed it (like I did, sigh):

The purpose of this Notice of Intent to Issue an Advisory regarding the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy is to allow interested parties 30 days to comment on the proposed advisory. ICANN will consider all comments received at the close of the 30-day comment period. Interested parties have until 19 October 2007 to submit comments at [email]retransfers-comments@icann.org[/email]. Posted comments can be viewed at [forum.icann.org ].

Time's running out. Make your voice count, especially those who got affected
by "arbitrary" conditions set by some registrars that aren't exactly covered in
the transfer policies.

Thanks for posting the notice DZ. I've read enough posts to now that uniform rules with some muscle behind them are needed to thwart efforts by registrars that look to hold onto domains - or raise an extra renewal fee - by "procedural foot dragging".
