Hi all,

Yesterday i was chosen as one among the 4 star performers in our Company for the last quarter. :)

Now i have a dilemma at hand! Our HR has asked us to choose what we want from the amount Rs. 1000. I am just not sure what to choose. Until an idea stuck to my mind when i came to know that one of the winners has opted to go for a domain.

Now i have also made up my mind to have a domain as well. I am looking for a good domain name related to <a personal interest>. Now i am looking upto you guys to suggest me a nice domain name.

BTW, i am going to blog under that domain. :)

Please suggest some. :)

Thanks,
Anand

Welcome to WebmasterWorld! [webmasterworld.com] I'm afraid you'll not be getting many recommendations here for domain names as we try to avoid specific domain name examples - and if they were good suggestions then someone here would register them faster than you could write them down.

If you are going to blog, here is my advice:

  • A domain which is related to the topic you will blog about
  • A domain which is named after you, if you want to blog about yourself
  • A domain which after being built up as a blog could then work well as a bigger website / ecommerce store in the future

amanand, welcome to WebmasterWorld and congrats on being a star performer.

There are many ways to choose a good domain name, if you read through the threads in this forum you should come up with some ideas.

I suspect other members could also come up with some good domain ideas as well, but to be honest, if anyone comes up with a great domain name, there is the very real possibility that they will register it themselves than pass the idea on. You might be best to, as I say, read through this forum and put your thinking cap on.

Here's a suggestion in the general category -

Look at your project: Ask yourself what it's about. Read it again. Take out some different details from it which relates to essential parts of it and make brainstorms on those small details - check if any of the domains you come up with are available - rinse and repeat.

    Good luck -
