I have a main site where I do all of my SEO/SEM work, and we rank fairly well. I also have some other domain names that can be considered "type-ins" and I'm thinking of 301 redirecting the type-in domain names to the corresponding page on my main site. I'm wondering if anyone has done this and whether it may have positive or negative effects (or none at all) on the main site. Obviously, I'd like to try and harness the traffic but it isn't enough to risk jeopardizing the main site.
For example I'm thinking of 301 redirecting (names/examples made up):
example.com to example-example.com/canon/powershot-110.html
