I have a client who is trying to transfer this domain to my registrar, from a company in Boise ID.

From what i can see, they are the registrar for my clients domain.

I have a feeling they are no longer in business....NO phone, NO response from Emails, No nothing...

I requested the transfer with my account, and the owner (my client) has not received the authorization code from the registrar to allow the transfer.

if the domain registrar is actually out of business how do i handle this?

If the company was a reseller for a larger company you should contact the upstream service provider. Often the parent company has procedures in place for handling reseller account closures.

I would check the WhoIs record for the domain registrar for additional contact details. Sometimes the website contact info is different from the domain (for the website) info.

You can also contact the local post office to see if they left a forwarding address. They might do that in order to receive any payments by check. You will have to mail a written request and make a small payment.

Lastly, check with ICANN about their procedures in this case. It is possible that if other people are "in the same boat" that there will be a solution.

and the owner (my client) has not received the authorization code from the registrar to allow the transfer.

Was the registrant (your client) able to log-in/access the account at the registrar to obtain (or request) the auth-codes?
