This domain I'm interested in a dot com domain which expired on the 6th June. I missed the bidding period during redemption. My gut feel is that the domain isn't being backordered by anyone else since it's not any generic term.
How long more must I wait before I can register for this domain?

Almost nothing "just drops" anymore. At the very least the "domain tasters" scoop up everything of any slight interest, so you may have to continue watching for another 5 days after it deletes.
