Newbie Domain re-direction question about type-in traffic being funneled

Hi,

I searched this forum and am not sure if what I want to do has already been addressed - if it is please just send me a link to the thread.

So this is the scenario - I have about 20 domains that related to a specific topic. What I want to do is to auto re-direct users to my main site when they do a standard address bar type-in.

NOTE: these are not my domains just an example to illustrate my point.

So for example when someone types in "Example#1.com" or Example#2.com I want them to automatically go to the domain "www.Example.com". I can handle all the DNS and redirection on my end. I don't particularly want to put up a page that says - wait a second while we re-direct - nor do I want to cloak anything with content for the search engines and then do a tricky re-direct. I just want to funnel type-in traffic to one source.

What I am concerned about is if this is considered a bad thing to do from the search engine point of view - or the user experience point of view. I am not taking the user to something unrelated.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

301 redirect. The user won't see any page say "wait while we redirect...", etc. and the search engines will "credit" your main domain and will not give you a "duplicate content" penalty.
