Hi,

My .biz web site is 5 years old (and domain name is bit hard to remember) and is well established in a search engine with lots of back links. Recently I found a nice .com domain and booked the same. Now the million dollar question – Should I move? I will run 301 from old .biz to new .com domain?

However I’m worried about my AS income and other issues such as search engine ranking etc. Please advice.

TIA

You WILL have problems; think very carefully before the move.

There's plenty of threads in this forum which give advice on the move, and the potential pitfalls.

If you follow the advice VERY carefully indeed, you can mimimise the damage - but you cannot remove all risks, and you will lose some link benefit.

It's all a matter of weighing up cost vs benefit; but best advice has to be "Don't Do It"

(And yes, I do have experience in this!).

Why not register the new domain and have it point to the existing one then promote that name?
