I'm completely new to the web building world and am in the process of creating a website. The .com address I wanted was already registered but no site was up - so we went ahead and bought the .ca and .net domains.
This morning I did a 'who is' on the .com address and it says that the status is 'redemption period' - which I understand means the current owner hasn't renewed yet.
Do I have a chance at getting the .com address? Short of checking every day, how will I know when it is fully expired?

If I do a search on the auction site now, the name doesn't turn up.
Have I lost my shot?

So based on much research from this site, I backordered with SnapNames and Pool and hoped for the best...
What I don't understand is that for the past 2 days the name has been pendingDelete but that isn't coming up on either site.
Any idea as to what's going on?

iirc, the domain has to drop and be caught by snapnames or pool before they have it in their auction system.
