Since the switch to VeriSign last Fall, the processing time for a .US domain request has become interminable (taking over a month for one of my current domain requests) and the concept of "customer service" is non existant. The response to my asking a question results in a reply with a form letter from VeriSign.
Seems to me that VeriSign is actually discouraging people from requesting .US domains. If I was in a hurry, I would have given up and forked over the 10 bucks for another dot-com by now.
