How best to use a keyword1-keyword2.com domain?

Should I change the URL, or use a permanent redirect?

The format of my site URL is brandnamekeyword1keyword2.com and the site is very successful, despite the 23 letter domain name (26 if you include the .com).

However, the brand name is not particularly memorable and I'm looking for ways to ensure that the site can be more easily remembered as a type-in.

Last year I bought keyword1-keyword2.com (11 letters - complete with the hyphen), and I'm wondering whether it's worth developing this as a separate site entirely, or simply using it as my brand name and placing a permanent redirect to the existing site.

After all, telling clients to type in the keywords they've likely been searching for is surely a bonus - and will increase recognition/memorability.

Not to mention the added bonus of a considerably shorter URL and email address.

Please let me know what you folks would do.

How about making a micro site with the latter name where visitors land directly on a buy page, with a link to the old site in the header?
