I just found a 301 redirect going to my client's site from a domain with the extension .es which I assume is Spain. I can't find anywhere to gather the whois info. Network solutions, Internic doesn't work for this extension nor DNSSTUFF.

Anyone know where to get the whois for a foreign domain?

Use whois.thur.de as your whois server - it does basically the same as <snip>, but from within any Whois-application.

And it's free, <unlike the snipped product>.

sorta related, sorta unrelated... But is there any way to track down the host or ISP for a "sneaky" foreign domain...? They can apparently put fake info into the registrar, so how can I find the ppl who are copying my site?

Can you hijack using a 301? Surely that's just a permanent redirect.

mhhfive ..run a trace route on it and look for the last one ( the site ) the last but one ..usually the host ISP..
