9 Days ago I registered a domain name, the very next day I bought hosting. While tweaking my site I parked the site. I immediately realized I was getting mad traffic from where I don't know. Suddenly last night I got an email that said "As per my request the domain name was canceled." Note I made no such request. Both the hosting and the domain name registration was said to be refunded and my account CLOSED.

When I called I was told "We will contact you"...... Yeah right. Today is Saturday 24 hrs later and no response and I don't expect one.

But more importantly how do I prevent something like this from happening again. Has anyone faced this problem and overcome it. If so how, if not how can I prevent it from happening again

Never get your hosting from where you registered the domain.

Is that absolutely true... I mean whats the difference, if Google is looking on Trust Rank and not stupid things like that. If thats good SEO then hey something is wrong with the system we work with.

It has nothing to do with SEO. If your registrar is also your hosting provider and your DNS provider, you are totally at their mercy. It also sounds like in your case that they were able to see your "mad traffic" as well and snapped up the domain for themselves. Are you planning to fight this? Also, can you see who ended up with the domain?
