So i changed my DNS servers in my GoDaddy account to reflect my new web site.

When i get to work, i pull up the site just fine.

When i get home, i still see the old site, on an old server....

is that a DNS issue with my ISP at home?

The DNS may be cached if somebody has looked at your url recently who was using your home ISP (including you ;))

Well i did a cookie, and temporary internet file dump and also did an ipconfig/flushdns and ipconfig/renewdns and that didnt do it....

should i contact GoDaddy? I have set the servers for over 5 days now..this should not be an issue....

If it works at work its unlikely to be a GoDaddy issue.

It could be 1 or more of the old nameservers didn't get deleted. You need to check at [internic.net...]

If the old server is showing here and not at GoDaddy then you will need to contact Goddady to resync it. If its showing at GoDaddy as well then you need to delete it in your control panel (and wait again for new setting to propagate.

If all of the above seems right... This utility may help trying to find out what's wrong. [dnsreport.com...]

If you just made the change it may take awhile for the changes to propagate. Usually everything is in sync after a couple of days.

I've got one, too. a client's site at godaddy, changed dns yesterday in the a.m. - dnsreport, whois all report the new nameservers, the correct a record, etc. but my roadrunner still gets the old ip/server. (we're talking 30+ hours now and counting, I know, I remember the days when it literally took days... but this is still weird)

I see mail coming in to the new server, so I know it's propagated elsewhere, I just can't see it. Not sure why, but I've had this happen before with a godaddy reg'd site. Why? who knows...

I think the delay in propogation is whats happening...becuase now i can see it at another location, so can an associate of mine...(to make sure i wasnt going crazy)

but a former co-workder still sees the old site....

so im hoping in a day or so, the replication will have taken place everywhere...

now its a waiting game i guess.

Is your home access by any chance the same bandwidth as your old host provider?

If so, your request for the page will never leave the ISP's network, or will do so irratically. This is a common problem, people would change hosts, not tell us about it, then wonder why the old version is displaying. Be sure you contact your previous host and tell them to remove the domain and remove it from their internal DNS.

Well it wasnt a "hosting company" per se'.....

We had a MacMini server running OSX co-located in South Carolina. the previous web designer installed DNS services on it, got 2 static IP addresses allocated and put the web site and Intranet on that machine...

We also have our mail server installed on that machine as well with a Kerio Mail application.

So if i have this previous administrator remove DNS services from that machine...and...if im still connecting to it through some ISP's, wont i just get continious errors stating that the page is not found?

i am at a loss on how to handle this...
