When was www.adsense.com sold to Google?

And for how much?

I was surprised to see that www.adsense.com now redirects to the Google AdSense login screen. That domain pre-dated the Google AdSense program by several years. I believe it was a small consulting business. I recall reading that the owner offered to sell it to Google but Google wasn't interested.

So when did this happen? I'd love to know how much was paid for it.

can you see the change in netcraft or archive.org to see previous owner? I would do it but I am on pda :-)

The strange thing is that it tries to set a cookie for .google.com whilst still at adsense.com and sending a 301 redirection.

Either someone at Google is clueless about cookies or they know something we don't!
