Probably handled in here in the past and if so a link will suffice..

I found a domain name that I like and that fits my new enterprise.. Thing is I looked into internet archive and saw that I once one of those parking pages on it.

What I wonder is how best can I determine the health of this domain name from the view of penalties etc..

I recently bought a parked domain that once had a website on it. The way that the domain is parked means that the content shown on the homepage can be indexed by Google. So at the moment a site:www.example.com search shows the homepage. If nothing showed up for the site: search then, in my case at least, I would take it that it is banned. It should be noted that some links are still pointing at my domain.

The domain I am looking at hasn't been registered for a few years. Doing a search for the name in google returns no mention.. doing a search for exacly the "example.com" of it returns mention on a few other pages.. which is part of my interest in it..

Are there actually any old pages from the site in the internet archive? If so you could check for any possible reasons for banning, such as hidden text, etc.

Otherwise you might just have to put up some real content and see if the pages get indexed...

Yes there are pages inside internet archive.. I took a look into the source of the newest one (2005) and didn't see anything that was untoward.
