Can Add on Domains have totally individual names?

Are add on domain names just like sub-domains

I am about to publish a couple of sites I have developed on my PC. I have never bought web space before and wondered if I could put both of these sites on the same web space but give them totally independant domain names using add on domains?
The web hosting company package that I am looking at has the option for four add on domains. Does this mean I can have completely different sites on the same piece of web space?

Example:

www.firstdomain.net
www.seconddomain.tv
www.thirddomain.com
www.fourthdomain.co.uk

Or would they look like this:

www.firstdomain.net
www.seconddomain.tv@www.firstdomain.net
www.thirddomain.com@www.firstdomain.net
www.fourthdomain.co.uk@www.firstdomain.net

The above domain names are made up for examples.(Obviously)

I am completely new to this and would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Erdy

Terms of service and technologies vary widely across hosts, making it difficult to reply with certainty.

It seems to me that your post would make a perfect email inquiry to the host. Have you tried that route - email the same questions to the hosting company's support staff?

Your first example. 4 domains is 4 domains, exactly as it says.

I've never even SEEN anything that looks like the second example. Them's some bizarre URLs.

Same web server. Yes.

Maybe you call that "web space". I'm not sure what "web space" is, myself.

you can do what you want. Addon domains works similar to reseller hosting except each account doesnt get its own control panel. Each subdomain/addon is considered its own website.
