Domain Pending Delete

Is any domain pending delete going to be grabbed by backorder sellers

I'm interested in acquring a domain name that's in the pending delete stage, this domain IS listed on sites that have lists of expiring domains (though that's not how I found out about it - wasn't even looking just found out by accident) does this mean that it will definately be grabbed by a dropcatching service or is there a chance that the domain will actually become available for me to register? I don't want to use a third party service because i don't want to spend $100s on the domain (I won't make any money out of it) but it is something i'd like very much to acquire.

Do drop catchers only "catch" domains people have acutally expressed interest in or do they pretty much just catch everything that's up for grabs?

If it is a very good/catchy domain....it will most likely be grabbed by a dropcatcher service....it's best you put your backorders in for it so you can compete for it.
Too risky to take chance that no one will grab it.

Some services actually do grab domains with no backorders in....then try to auction for next 3 days.

It largely depends on where it is registered, but definitely backorder it at SnapNames and Pool. If it's at GoDaddy backorder it at GoDaddy.

Ok - i'm getting really discouraged here - this domain I want is well past 5 days for the "pending delete" phase - what's goin on? can it be held onto for as long as the registrar wants or what?

What hope have I got of getting this domain if the "pending delete" phase is indefinate?

Where is the domain registered? At which registrar? What tld is it?

Well you can check whois of the domain. If it's expiring date is 2008 or later then someone's registered it.

I'd say you should backorder it if it's a good domain name.
