I think nobody knows except those who write the algo, what makes you assume .tv are treated any differently than other dot endings?
I think .tv are a good option if you are going to either build a website that focuses on someting tv related or whose main content will be video feeds like youtube or similar.

In ~1996 I gave reservation fees to the licensed prime registrar $1000 for each of three names. They promised auctions 4-5 times with specific dates. Missed them all. Then sold rights to idea lab in California. I was reselling .TV on my site as a loss leader and charity to Parkinson Institute. 185 people downloaded comprehensive app. Idea Lab gave me no money, sent my check for $3000 back "after more than two years" and said cease and desist reselling. Those names broadcast, infomercial & fox are worth 8 figures now. I told them we still wanted at least one as it was to be the name of what became the streaming entertainment network. They said ok,...$1MM per year. I declined, they put up a porno site. It was like salt in the wound. (It is now owned by legitimate concern though).

The the original contract essentially said I was Ned Beatty in Deliverance. .TV means Transvestite to me now. They will do well it it as that market is strong, but one that I unfortunately can not patronize due to the scrupulousness of this failed registrar.
