register a non american domain like com.au or com.nz

live in usa plan but want to register a domain with com.cn

i am a web developer in usa but i plan to do business in china too do i have to register domains like com.cn from china or can it be done from usa too?

Dont know about china and kiwi land, for something.com.au you need an australian registered company or tradename called 'something' or similar. [auda.org.au...]

Each ccTLD has its own rules and regulations for their respective domains. Some countries require legal residence, some require that you are a citizen, and others are open to registration for anyone. You've got to refer to the organization that controls each:

  • IANA ccTLD Database [iana.org]
