Message Too Old, No Replies

It just hit me: I likely have a "Domain IQ"!

What's yours? Can we accurately measure DomainIQ? Are you a domain idiot savant?

IQ level 150+: In 1995-1996 you were picking up one word highly commercial domains, country domains, etc. In 1998-1999 you were programming systems to beat the pants off of everyone else when domain names dropped.

IQ level 135-145: In 1997-1998 you were registering the remaining unregistered commercial one word domains and some very robust two word commercial grade domains.

IQ level 120-135:?

IQ level 110-120:?

IQ level 100-110?

IQ Level 90 - 100?

IQ Level 80 and below?

I haven't quite yet assigned myself a DomainIQ level as yet, but clearly it ain't 150+.

So, fill in the? lines with your own verion of how DomainIQ is or should be measured.

Is it still possible to score a 150 today if you have just entered the game? What criteria would you apply?

Some domain portfolios are comprised of different 'collections' that reflect different strategies at different times. Does that suggest that there are different types of domain intelligence - akin to math or creative writing skills-genius - and therefore we should scrap the whole DomainIQ testing regime?

Perchance are you a domain idiot-savant [google.com]?

What's your DomainIQ?

IQ Level 90 - 100? - you bought hundreds of .biz and .info domains, because you believed the hype that was going around. Alas, the punters were a little brighter, so you now have 2,489 MFA sites

IQ Level 80 - 90? - You bought hundreds of olympics2004 style domains, not realising that the English language allows so many combinations of words that no-one was willing to pay more than $100 a time. You sold four. At the end of 2004, you admitted defeat, and set up 4,300 porn sites, which have netted $7.32. You learned from your mistakes, and can repeat them exactly ... you are limbering up to sell olympicspeking2008 (etc x2500). Well, Beijing had gone, what were you to do?

IQ Level 70 - 80? - Having learned from .biz, .info etc., you have just stocked up on .name and .eu

IQ Level 70 - 80? - Undetererred by experience, you just bought 400 trademark.eu domains. If they want 'em, they'll just have to pay your prices, won't they!

Oh oh... What if one has a pre-1994 domain? Is it like a loop where above 150 it goes back down to 0?

Not so sure - mobi may change the world ... or not.

But investing in .mobi now has to be an error; not only is the future cloudy, but .mobi names will be a reflexion of the moment - there's no way to know which .mobi names will succeed.

So,IQ Level 50 - 60? - You just splashed out on 500 .mobi names, all a variation of 'myspace' and 'youtube', and you reckon mytube.mobi will make you a million.

"Government Intelligence"
"Jumbo Shrimp"
"Working Vacation"
"Domain IQ"

Sounds like another oxymoron to me :)

rocker, each of those oxymorons is already registered as a .com domain name. I just thought I'd point that out.
