.ca looms on the horizon

CIRA has finally put out a schedule of events for the de-regulation of the .ca domains. You can find it here [cira.ca]. The really interesting thing is that they are making current name holders re-register their names under the new regime. I forsee some lawsuit over 'stolen' name when many companies fail to re-register as we all know they will.

How many .ca domains are there? or a site to find them?

I am hearing that domain registrations for .ca will still be around $1000 CAN to discourage casual registrations, hear anything about that oilman?

$100 CDN for 2 years - roughly the same as NSI.

I have a few domains on my list for sure but even at $100 each I can't get as many I really want ;)

Haven't landed new SEO contract lately. Canadians are always so slow when it come to SEO. Just tonight a friend of me was telling me about this great new search engine he found called google - wanted to know I ever heard of it ;)

Thanks oilman. Yeah most Canadian companies are just slow when it comes to the web period (conservative). Most prominent brick and mortar businesses don't think there is any value in SEO. Most of their undertakings are B to B or they believe cater to their existing clientele who already know their name - this is pretty limiting.

Somewhat different for medium and smaller companies, but SEO is way down the list of what they think they need to be successful on the web.
