I registered this domain four years ago with a hosting company who is a reseller for eNom and I stopped using that company as a host for the last three years, and now have to renew the domain in the next two months.

I don't have any account/business with the original host/reseller anymore. I would like to use another registrar to renew the domain, how do I go about this? The original reseller/host put a lock on it too. The only access I have is to that access.enom.com panel.

How does this process normally work for someone who got a domain from one reseller and now wants to use another one to renew that domain -- does the original reseller necessarily have to be involved?

Do you have a account from the reseller?

If yes, maybe it can work. <Sni;>

If no,You should try to contact ENOM ,use you registered Email.

I've found that the principal will cover for the agent. Go direct to the parent firm with the issue and they will invariably set you on the right track.

Sorry if I didn't understand your situation, but you registered the domain with one company that you no longer use as a hosting provider... right?

now you want to renew it but not on the same company.. right? you can renew it there with no problem, (for security and avoiding to expire it and lose it while you register it on a nother).

So, you can renew it and then go with your host provider who will for sure have domain registration. Then transfer the domain and you are out of the originary company.

As for the lock, I understand it protects your domain and disallow any attempt of transfer.
