Domain I am interested in expired in March 2006

Is there a way to *nudge* a registrar so they drop the expired name?

I am looking at a particular domain that expired in March of 2006. It is a .com and is marked as ACTIVE. It is not with a major registrar like NetSol, Godaddy, Tucows, etc.

Does anyone know of a way to nudge a registrar to drop the domain as it appears it has slipped through the cracks.

Without providing its current WHOIS details minus the name, it's hard to say. And more often than not, registrars don't have to do anything for 3rd parties without any valid notices of any valid claim.

Anything you do in relation to a doman that may (or may not) be for sale will do just one thing - Raise the price.

In almost 100% of cases, if the domain you want has gone, much better to forget it, browse the dictionary, and buy another.

My method is get some mates to brainstorm after a few(!) drinks, then prune the list and prioritize once sober, and then try 'em all until I get one that suits*.

Ebay often has a total and utter bargain for $20.00 - I get a 'one numeral plus three letter domain' that makes sense, for under $20, about a year ago. And ebay, if nothing else, can give you ideas of what might work.

*Never, ever buy a domain unless totally sober - but you knew that ;)
