Multiple attempts to transfer my domain

Any way to ID the wannabe thief?

I have received emails from NS to approve domain transfer request on my primary domain. I have no intention of transferring it, and my understanding is that as long as it is locked, its safe.

two questions:
1. Is it actually safe
2. Any way for me to track down the guy trying to do this?
The email from NS says "Network Solutions, LLC has received a request from John Doe" and a call to NS resulted in a polite, "Sorry we cant tell you anything".

As long as it remains locked it absolutely should not go anywhere unless you open the wrong email and click on the wrong link. The locking system is all about not allowing a domain to be moved without the authoritative email addy approving the transfer.

So, get some sleep and put down the mouse when you pick up the Jack Daniels. ;)

I've never had much success in getting identifying information about frauds, except one time and that likely was by mistake. I sent a nastygram to the originator of the request and never heard back. No surprise.

As the others have said, as long as it's locked, yes.

But also make sure only you have access to them.

Unfortunately, no. Registrars keep that as part of their "proprietary" information unless forced by
a Court order.

Unless you have someone in the inside. ;)

Something's suspicious about what you posted, though. Is it to transfer the name to NS or away?
Because if it's the latter, you'd better check with your current registrar.

Transfer TO NS.

In that case, get back to your fave drink as long as your domain's locked. :)

But as I mentioned, gaining registrars aren't required to reveal to domains' registrants and/or
contacts who started the transfer.

I wonder if registrars "should" be forced to say who. At least to the domains' registrants and/
or contacts only, anyway.
