Can Whois info be different on just 1 registrar?

Domain still showing expired more than 75 days after expiry

The facts are that

on internic.org whois check up, domain shows as expired for more that 75 days

nevertheless,domain has not dropped

on another registrars whois checkup, domain shows as re registered to original registrant,

how can this be

There are 2 databases. One at the registry and one at the registrar. They are not always in sync with each other.
