We have substantial decrease in our success rate for deleted names.

For the past year we have been acquiring .com domain names on the daily 2PM EST drop for expired names. Our usual daily success rate for our wish list of 10 to 20 names dropping that day was better then 50%.
We have not participated in the daily drop for the last month. Now using the same selection criteria and programs our success rate is ZERO!
Help, suggestions, comments, similar or different experiences are all welcome.:)

Given that your prior success rate was "better than [sic] 50%", you must have been going after less competitive domains. You are now noticing more difficulty catching these domains, as certain players are now using bigger nets to catch expiring names. These larger nets catch more domains, at the expense of lesser quality, that are used to test for traffic during the 5 day grace period. Recent daily registrations of .coms have on occasion exceeded 1,000,000 domains. That obviously includes both dropping, already expired and never registered domains.
