A listing in Yahoo directory

I found a .co.uk domain with a listing in the yahoo directory. It doesn't appear to have much typein traffic and no other websites link to it.

I plan to park the domain and It will cost me around $25 for 2 years to register it.

Is it worth it?

We would require waaaay more information that you are allowed to post here to fashion a meaningful judgment.

Given that the amount of money is small the risk is small so give it a try.

If $25 is a large financial risk for you then don't do it. There are too many variables that may come into play that could shoot down your effort. For example, what if someone reports a change in use or ownership and the listing is removed?

yahoo review the directory listing every year, plus they probably have a directory specific spider visiting more regularly

i have noticed that sites listed in yahoo directory usually rank very well in Yahoo SERPS,

I think I will take a chance and register the domain. It will be interesting to see how long it takes Yahoo to remove the listing.

I've been watching a listing in the Yahoo directory for over three years. The company went bankrupt then, I tried to get the domain (a generic non-trademarked domain), but lost the snap. The person who got it hasn't done anything with it - when you click on the listing or visit the domain, you get an error page.

It's been over three years,and editors at the Yahoo directory haven't deleted it yet, althouth the listing resolves to an error page. I've got a listing right beside it, that's why I happened notice it.

I just went to a couple of Yahho categories and clicked app. 30 listings in each category - I found 3 or 4 on every page that were "bad" listings, that is they didn't resolve to a page, or either resoved to a domainer' parking page. I guess the Yahoo editors are off doing other things :-)

A YAhoo listing still carries a little weight when building links - I'd register it if it were available.
