Message Too Old, No Replies

My domain is pointing to someone else's site!

And yes, I do have the DNS set to my host.

This is a strange situation that's come up. I recently purchased the domain name <snip> and set the nameservers to my host.

But check this out: <Edit: The domain doesn't go to my website. It leads to someone else's website.>

BTW, if it makes a difference, I have this domain set up as an Addon domain in my hosting account cpanel. Done this before with no problems. I have contacted my host but no response yet. Hoping to get some ideas here as to what to do about this.

Interesting.

If you use nslookup with your nameservers, it lists both sites on the same IP address. But if you use the other domain's nameserver it shows different IP addresses.

It looks like whoever setup the DNS entry on your nameserver screwed up.

Well as you purchased it only 3 days ago it may take a little time for the DNS to modify...

I assume that you picked this up as a dropped domain, so if it does not change within a week contact your host...

Firstly, links are against TOS here, so the MODs will probably remove your URL shortly.

Secondly

methinks you should contact them instantly

If there are several hosting packageson the same server, it only takes the wrong package number to send your domain name to the wrong package,

if is probable that they are not aware that the dns settings are faulty

Often the 1st line support guys don't know what to do, but you better persist cos DNS issues don't solve themselves

Actually I don't think it was a dropped domain, I think it had never been registered (I could be wrong but had no reason to think otherwise when I registered it). I still haven't heard back from my host. Is there anything other than cntacting my host that I should be doing to resolve this?

I don't know if my host changed something or the DNS finally kicked in, but it's working now.

that happened to me twice.

2 of my adult domains were somehow being redirected to a CHURCH website.
