From Business Wire [home.businesswire.com].

Escom LLC, the owners of the storied Sex.com domain name, today announced a distribution deal in which the new Sex.com will become a premiere online destination for broadband premium services representing the best in entertainment for adults.

The agreement calls for the Playboy Entertainment Group to power the Sex.com web site, providing content options that include a wide array of high-quality erotic programming and interactive elements that allow for social networking between consenting adults.

Better quality Sex.com? The second coming of Playboy?

Not that I've ever read Playboy, and if I did not that I ever opened an issue for any reason other than reading the informative articles and interviews, but based upon hearsay evidence I'll venture to say that the relationship between Sex.com and Playboy should bring a new level of class and sophistication to Sex . . dot com.

Playboy Rises to the Occasion

OK Webwork you asked for a pun, here you go:

The sex industry has some pretty stiff competition. I can see how it was hard for sex.com to pass up such a proposal. I am sure it will be a mutually satisfying arrangement.

Oh boy, apparently I did ask for it. ;)

Alrighty, points awarded for domain reference nuance, novelty and creativity. "Blunt instrument"* posts are subject to excision, derision and circumcision.

* Let's stay away from vulgarity. The more oblique and nuanced the higher the score. This is a brain challenge, not an easy verbosity challenge.

I have to admit, the two seem like a perfect fit and I'm not at all surprised they finally ended up in bed together.

However, it's important to remember that this is big business and both companies need to be sure that they don't bite off more than they can chew.

Ok...that one hurt
