I have found a no to popular domain which I'm interesting on.

According to the whois info it already expired on 30-Jun-2005 and its status is :

Registry Status: PENDINGDELETE

However it has been more than 2 weeks since I found this domain in the same status and as per my research I found that the above status should not be longer than 5 days or so?

I'm not a domain expert so I may not being using the best sources to trace it but I'd like to know if what I'm expecting is correct and it will become available soon, or who I can go with to know a more accurate information.

I just don't want to go with the (very popular) registar because I'm sure they will try to charge more for the domain or push me into back orders and I just don't want to pay all these fees, if I can get it cheap fine otherwise I won't die :-), I have not immediate plans for it but I could develope it if I get it. I'm sure it is not too popular because it does not involve generic names, I can't find any old pages anywhere nor backlinks either.

If you can send me a private message whit a good website or free service which can give accurate information it would be very helpful.

Also if you can recomend some place where I can notify that the name has been in that status since long enough without being released (only if that is possible).

Thanks a lot,
CS.

More and more, domains of any value with the larger registrars, no longer return to the public domain but instead are routed to auctions. For example, Register.com is reported to have just made a deal with SnapNames to push deleting domains into the SnapNames system.

If it's a domain of any value I'd place my orders with all the drop services.

Hi Webwork,

Thanks for you reply.. I guess then there is no chance to get it as a regular registration. I'll let this one go then.

Thanks!

There's always a chance. Track the domain. When (if) it's listed as "Pending Delete - Scheduled for Release" then you should be down to the last 5 days (or less) of waiting. If the domain isn't a hot item you might be able to manually register it if you closely monitor it.
