I am doing an SEO job for a SiteX. I was wondering if since the site uses a PHP script and has long url's and the site owners do not want to change the look of the site, would it be beneficial to create a new website using a good keyword domain and just create the web site that markets the SiteX to visitors and search Engines, it would be it's own unique site but have links to the main site.

Thanks
markus

Hello Markus and welcome to WebmasterWorld. Sorry about the edit but your post raised multiple issues, many of which fall outside the educational role of the Domain Forum. You will get better guidance if you break down your issues into separate threads that you post in each specialized forum, such as the Affiliate Forum, the Search Engine Promotion Forum, etc.

So far as picking a domain I'd either a) make it a short, memorable (brandable) one; or, b) go for a generic type-in domain that is descriptive of the industry; or, c) look for an existing "industry related" website that has been around for several years, has older quality backlinks, but has not otherwise been optimized and buy that site.
