Domain Names Sold by NON-Registrars

Are these legitimate, being sold on eBay?

I just ran across domain names being sold on eBay. I know they've been doing this and I just have not really looked into it.

I see some people who have been selling domain names for years even though they are not a registrar. Is this ok? Has anyone ever done this?

I personally no longer use eBay due to some serious issues with them, however, was curious if anyone could just go around selling domain names.

If you are the registrant of a domain name, you can sell it. May be problems if it's a trademark or something, but otherwise, I can't think of any problems.

I've purchased some domain names on eBay in the past.

These domains are most likely domains that have already been registered and the seller is wanting to get a premium for them (though that doesn't always happen).

I have bought many domains off of Ebay without any trouble.

Be sure and look for those with free registrar pushes (GoDaddy, ENOM, etc) otherwise you will end up with domains across multiple registrars or having to pay an additional transfer fee.
