I am trying to find a top 100 000 domain name list according to traffic and hits generated. Is there such a list anywhere on the web? I remember one being there few years ago.

A free one of course :).. doesn't matter if its old.
The thing is, the domain .EU will be coming into effect next year so we are trying to register about 30-50 top quality domains that we can later (couple of years down the road) sell back.

So this being said , any idea of another way to come up with a list of about 300-500 (we estimate only about 10% of our submitted domains will actually get registered as many people will try the same) commonly used words that make a good domain name while at the same time don't break any copyrights etc..<snip>.. the goal is to find the 500 most commercial common words?

[edit reason] Please avoid mentioning specific domain names [/edit]

Forget 10%. You are more likely to end up with .001% if you shoot for top names.

There are many, many professionals (they sometimes call themselves "domainers" who are far ahead of you on the learning curve. Still, if you want to learn more, there are plenty of sites available that contain a wealth of information about this topic and related topics.

You can find an excellent list of sites and other resources used by domainers by searching for "pendingdelete"

Can I see the list too? The only list I'm aware of is from Alexa, and they want big bucks for that.

Thanks!

Folks, you needn't post "sticky me too". Just go ahead and make your requests - directly and nicely - by sticky.

So long as no one is spamming or routinely using WW stickymail as a marketing channel it's unlikely that there will be issues.

And if there are issues we'll tell ya! ;0)

So, please: No more posts offering to sticky or posts asking for stickies. Just sticky - per the TOS and the general non-commercial spirit of this place.

Thanks.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not have a free list of the top 100,000 domains ranked by traffic nor do I know where one is available. The only available list, of the top 100,000 domains, to my knowledge costs several thousand dollars.

End of discussion.....

;)

Nicely done NNY.

Folks, unless someone is prepared to sticky me with a "yes there is such a list and here's the info" message I think it's time to stop perpetuating this thread and the myth of the 100,000 top domains by traffic and hits generated. This thread is locked absent compelling evidence of some truth to the contrary.

Besides, if such a list existed I wouldn't be so eager to believe the current truth or accuracy of its contents - absent a lot of validation.
