We have a new site that was launched about 5 months ago. All unique content. After going directly to the supplemental results in Google i started to wonder why. Looking around i find that there is another domain out there that had our godaddy ip in the past. The old sites dns still points at us and G has it cashed to our homepage.

So.. If you go to the old site it still comes up under their old name with our content. All of the e-mails on the whois and phone numbers are now dead for the old site so I cant contact the people who own the domain.

I’m afraid i am going to get penalized.

Anyone got a suggestion?

Easy fix- just configure your web server to only display pages for your domain.

Well, this explains a "feature" of the web host that I use that I didn't give much thought to at the time.

They feature "clean" IP addresses - never-before assigned.

A pretty good deal, at $2 one-time set-up and no monthly fee. I really don't understand why anyone uses shared IP addresses. (Referencing another thread here...)

Sorry, can't help you- I don't use Apache. I suggest you try httpd.apache.org or post in www.webmasterworld.com/apache
