I read another topic where it talks about Pool.com, how is their service? [webmasterworld.com ]
GoDaddy backorders are good in 2 very specific circumstances. 1) If the domain is registered at GoDaddy and it's not renewed by the existing registrant, it will be placed at the tdnam auction. So you will have the foot in the door already (although generally I'd advise against this because, why pay up front when you can bid at the tdnam auction and only pay if you win. Thereby not risking any funds). And 2) If the domain is registered elsewhere and drops, is picked up by a taster who then drops it again after 5 days. GoDaddy have a good record of picking up those domains (although this does occassionally happen, I wouldn't place a strategy on acquiring the domain solely on such a remote set of circumstances happening).
If the domain is not registered at GoDaddy you should bid for the domain at that registrar's preferred auction partner. If you tell us where the domain is registered, we can advise you what to do.
