Hi,

I have a question about a domain name and if it is a suitable name.

I am looking at getting a domain name where there should be an appostrophy, but I won't have one.

This is an example only, If I wanted to create a site about "Australia's Cars"

Would you consider this domain name? www.australiascars.com

There are many variations but all taken, is a word without the appostrophe an appropriate domain name?

I hope it makes sense.

Thank you.

It's fairly normal to leave out the apostrophy, as in your example. The search engines ignore them in their searches too. So you should be ok.

As an observation on your example. If you really had a website about australian cars, your example would be good if your intended market was outside australia, but if your intended market is inside australia, then you would probably want the australian top-level domain. If your intended market is both, or if your concerned about copycat sites, then you should get both, from the outset.
