Hi everybody,

I am a newbie to this forum and also to domains and others things. :(.
I want to own a website. I am learning Html and other things. In this context I have a question, where should I start first
If I want to buy a domain name like .com or .fr or .something....? (So that I can build the content for the website.)

All help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

cheers.

The best way to learn is to jump into it, this will allow you to get a taste of it all. I never learned PHP or HTML real well by reading articles, books, etc, I learned it by building web sites. And also you can learn a lot from here. I would go with a .com domain if your target is for all (Or most) internet users, but if your target in local people I would go with .us, .fr, etc.

Below are some good threads that will help you get started:

To be honest...

Build your whole site before you buy a domain name or get hosting.

If you can get a complete site on your harddrive it will be worth uploading it.

If you can't do that then you will have saved yourself from adding to the millions who have websites with a handfull of unfinished pages which cost them money and never get finished...
