Selling a Domain...now what?

How to deal with the transfer of ownership after the sale

Hi everyone,

I've nearly finished the sale of my domain <edit>. I have the domain currently parked with Sedo. My question is - how can I quickly and easily (and cheaply) transfer the domain ownership to him? I got a fair price, but I don't want to pay really high fees.

Any suggestions? Actually any help at all would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Christina

All you have to do is make sure the domain is unlocked, and ask the buyer to initiate a transfer to the registrar of choice. Then you'll get a request in your email which you need to approve. The only fee, then, is a normal registration fee for the buyer.

Or, some registrars will let you transfer for free to another account at the same registrar.

If the sale was made through Sedo, then Sedo will instruct you, and you'll pay 10%.

Best and fastest way nowadays is simply to push the domain to the new owner. All that's required is that your registrar can/will do this, and that the new owner have or set up an account (usually free) at that registrar. Once those criteria are in place, takes a couple of hours. Don't even have to pay a renewal fee.
