Selling Domain Names

What is the best way?

I have some domain names [based on one particular subject]. I don't need them anymore. So I was thinking of selling them. Where is the best place to sell them?

Thanks,

Tim

You may want to consider Sedo or a likewise company. Sedo is the most popular.

Sedo only allow a max listed selling price of $10,000 for a domain - I'm aiming much higher than that *_*

Thanks for the info. I don't think i'll get anywhere near $10k so it's good for me.

I've put my domains on Sedo. It was pretty easy. However the thing i don't like is it's hard to know what some of the similar domains are selling for as most are 'make offer'...and you can't see what the highest bid is so far. Oh well, i'll just have to wait and see if i can shift them.

I've had over 1,000 names on sedo for the past year.

I've had two (2) inquiries in a year -- both were low balls. Other than that, nada.

I've listed domains with prices, and without.

I find their keyword optimization process to be absurdly cumbersome. Maybe for a few domains it's ok.

I've got domains at sedo.

I find the best thing about sedo so far is monitoring which domains are getting type-in traffic. The parking income is negligible and the offers to buy just don't occur. - none of the names I have there are www.keyword.com quality though - You might find better luck with high value domains.

Make a list with prices and post them in dnforum, that's really the best place to sell/domains FAST.

As someone REALLY new to buying & selling domains, I find I'm having success by doing the sales myself. I contact people via email to let them know this domain is available, and if they're interested to get back to me with an offer.

So far I've gotten some interest in a number of my domains this way, and today I think I'll have my first sale. :)

Take care,
Christina

Congrats Christina!

Ebay might be a good choice, too. You can always set a reserve and see what the demand for the domain name is. They have a domain name category with hundreds of names.

If it meets the reserve, great! If not, you haven't lost much beside the Ebay fees to post it, but you've gained some interest and the fact that people will know it's for sale.

Ebay also has a new feature where you can have buyers send you their Best Offer.

And they have a fairly new service called Want It Now.

There are a couple 'o prominent domain boards on the Web, and a few general sites about domains that cover news and sales. Not hard to find. They'll give you a much better idea of comp's. (Comparable sales.)
