alternative domain extensions...OK for doorway sites?

I'm interested in purchasing a number of ws and tv domain names to use solely as content rich doorway sites, whose sole purpose is to acheive high rankings in the search engines.

My question is...is there any discrimination against these alternative domain extensions in regards to the various se ranking algorithms?

I am not sure about tv or ws, but I know that some like .org get precedence over a .com in the eyes of some of the SE's.

Yes, there is some predujuice. Same as with .nu, the .tv and related (.ws, .cc, .to) tld's are sure to follow.

So what youre saying is that the same exact optimized page with the extension (e.g.) webmaster-world-forums.ws will not rank as high as webmaster-world-forums.com, given that the user types in the search phrase "webmaster world forums"?

Is there any documentation to support this ? Does it relate to specific engines? Do the algorithms somehow place less relevance on a .ws or .tv extension as opposed to the .com equivalent?

I'm asking this because I've had good positioning success with doorway domains using the keyphrase.com and keyphrase.net extensions, but it's slim pickings now with finding good .com or .net names.

I have the same delimna.

.ws domains was originally for citizens of Samoa. Can anyone confirm that google gives some prejudice to .ws domains or .com/.net?

There is no bias against any domain extension. You should spend some time reading and posting in the search engine forums. Using doorway pages will get you in trouble.

Then you didn't look hard enough. I'm page 1 on Google with 2 single word search terms and have a .ws extension.
