creating domain names with more than three words in it

In term of domain names that have three words in it is it best to have for example

www.thebestwidget.co.uk
or
www.the-best-widget.co.uk

If a user typed in a search 'the best widget' would option 2 be the most relevant or does it make no difference at all in terms of search relevancy.

Can search engine recognise the three different words if it is option 1.

I cannot answer this, but would think it would make no difference.
