A newly-registered domain name has WHOIS data filled with gibberish (like "ASDFASDFASDF"). For various reasons (including that I want to own the domain itself), I submitted a complaint through the WHOIS Data Problem Report System (http://wdprs.internic.net). Over the past two months, I subsequently submitted more reports as the owner updated the old gibberish with new gibberish (like "QWERTYQWERTY").

As I read ICAAN rules and white papers, the registrar ideally should cancel the domain name. Is this never going to happen? Do ICAAN rules have no teeth? Should I submit complaints through other channels?

Try complaining to the registrar first. Then check again after about 2 weeks.

If the name's still there and is still not updated, then use the WHOIS report
link again.
