Changing your domain name

How hard it is for an ISP to change existing name?

Is it a big deal to have your ISP change your domain name? I was thinking about changing my name but I have not contacted my hosting company yet. I'm having nightmares about email addresses and bookmarked links. Of course, I'd keep the old name and redirect it to the new name.

Tis easy to do this. Furthermore, it is easy to not only redirect the domain name but all email going to a domain name to another domain name. So it is actually not too big of a deal if your webmaster knows what s/he is doing.

If you know what you're doing, it's pretty easy. If you don't, it can easily lead to lost email and lost traffic.

You need to register the new name, then configure it, then redirect the mail and traffic.
