I have a close friend who had some work done for him by a dev company. After much BS they convinced my man that the domains need to be registered in the Dev company name.

My man has limited companies for the business based on the domain.

some of them are co.uk and others are .net's

My man would like to move the sites to a new company, how can he secure what he should already own, without resorting to giving people a kicking.

What would be the precedent wrt Nominet and any advice on the .net

Cheers

Whoever is listed as the "registrant" is the legal owner of the domain name, no ifs ands
or buts.

Is your close friend listed as the registrant? If not, then your close friend will have great
difficulty getting the names back.

If those are his business names I am sure he won't have much trouble. Worst case, he would have to take it to ICANN, where they could take away the domain names from the dev company.
