There's a .com domain name which has a "deletion date" of 2004-12-09 on Pool.com. It is highly unlikely somebody else will try to snap it up as it is a rather obscure URL so I thought I'd just wait for it to expire and then register it with one of the registrars which just charges $9 rather than paying Pool $60+.

If the deletion date is today, when will it become available for people to register? I have tried now at 12:00 GMT, but says it is not available at Netsol etc.

Thank you very much :)

You will normally find that the domain will not be available for a couple of months after the domain has run out.

These times change from country to country.

Thank you for that.

However, doesn't the Pool.com deletion date include that two months or so? How can Pool snap it up on the deletion date while we have to wait another couple of months?

The info. for the domain, initially registered at gandi.net, is as follows:

Status: PENDINGDELETE
Updated Date: 03-dec-2004
Creation Date: 04-oct-2003
Expiration Date: 04-oct-2004

Thanks :)

Yeah The Pool Delete date is already about 30-45 days after expiration. If you wanna do it manually start at exactly 11:00am Pacific Time. If he name is still not available, do not give up trying for couple of hours until it is released. By the time you read this, you have probably passed the time you should have tried to register, but if you still haven't got it, then try now.

Central time is GMT -6. Take into account the two-hour time difference between Central and Pacific, and Pacific should be GMT -8.
