Isn't it all .mp? or is it .mp.cs?

I was about to shell out some money on a domain then thought, "wait a minute..."

Worth it? Depends what kind of game your into. However since its hosted on their servers and you do not own the domain nor is there whois records and they can take back a name anytime they want and you can not use your own html and you have to use their templates and they restrict all robots from spidering the site... you make the call. from the seo standpoint then id say No but if you love domains, go for it :P

What separates this from all the new.net type names?

Wasn't .mp originally the TLD for some island nation - just like .tv was Tuvalu, and .FM was Federated Micronesia.

Hm, according to this MP was the Northern Mariana Islands.

.MP is a country code domain name, recognized by DNS servers around the world, no additional software required.

Looks like this isn't the usual. For one, they charge more if the site is commercial.

Yes - it does seem like you can't do anything but use their templates. Not even a whois server...

This is a TLD which I would have used quite a bit were it more relaxed - how it is however - I'd not touch it with a hot poker.

Great marketing though on their part.
