Try a Google search on something like [compare registrars] and you'll find a lot of resources to do this.

How do you qualify "best"?

Customer support and/or reliability?

Number of registrations?

Ease of control panel/account manager?

I doubt you'll find any like that. But there is one poll attempting this in another
domain name forum.

Unfortunately I can't post the link here...

Thanks for the responses ... well, on another thread, people were complaining how "bad" registrars could steal domains away from "good" registrars basd on the new ICANN rules. So, how do they distinguish "bad" from "good"?

Practically the same qualifications as I posted above...and more! ;)

Bottom line: take the fat out of the fluff. And use your best judgement.

Sorry, folks - I've removed a number of posts from this thread because they violate the Domain Names Forum Charter [webmasterworld.com].

Lets have a discussion about what features and qualities make a good registrar, but not get into either bashing or hyping any particular business by name.

Specific Registrars
On today's web, registration has been deregulated and registrars
are no longer limited to a few select businesses. Instead we have
seen the rise of many all-in-one businesses who will register,
host and help to market your sites all in one stop. Because of this
shift, we ask that you do not discuss specific registrars, just as
we long ago disallowed discussion of specific web hosts.
