Need Domain Name to Point for Cheap

As a web designer, the mysteries of hosting and dns settings is not my strength. However, I have a client (a major educational institute) that wants all the files that are associated with that school to reside on their servers. To clarify, they do not want external hosting companies hosting their various sites. As a result, they have several domain names they registered that are currently being hosted by external companies. Unfortunately, my client does not have the capability to provide dns settings to Network Solutions in order to get the domain names pointing to their servers. I am trying to figure out an economical way to point these names to the files on their servers without incurring extra hosting costs. Help!

They should be able to contact whoever owns the servers to get the DNS info. They need that to move the domains, it is a pretty simple process.

Some domain name registrars (DirectNIC for one) will provide free DNS service if your domains are registered with them. At $15 per year, their rates are reasonable and their service is good.

Your client could move their domain name registrations to DirectNIC (and probably save a few bucks), host the pages themselves, and use DirectNIC name servers to steer visitors to their pages.
