Hi all,
I'd like to purchase a domain name .com , which is already registered. I sent him the email and told him that I would like to puchase his domain name. Please tell me what I should do the next. What are the safety measures I should keep? Please tell me the sites where should we make a deal. How should I transfer him money and how should I get the domain. What are the general procedures? Please help me.

In advance thank you for the comments.

Best regards,
Noximus

The safest way is to use escrow.com. If it is for not very much I often just trust them. You can have them fax you their ID that matches one of the contacts at the registrar. You can also have them fax you a signed agreement that they are selling you the domain. None of those things protect you except escrow. They just make you feel better about the transaction. Most people are not out there to rip you off especially if you contacted them first. Just depends on the level of risk you are willing to take.

Pretty much. They do charge but it s the safest way to do things if you a little worried.

Nox:

In addition to escrow.com, you can try Sedo.com. I bought a domain on there, didn't run into any problems with it. Only issue was that it took a little time to transfer.
